Persistence Follows Diligence

There are always a few setbacks when starting out… at least, that’s my experience. Persistence follows diligence, so I have to stay committed and push on.

First week, first new injury: bad wrist sprain. I was so annoyed over this because it basically hinders any kettlebell and barbell work that I had planned. Sure, I can squat, but that’s about it! Anything requiring a grip on the bar or kettlebell is just not possible yet and this has me a bit down and annoyed.

Worst part is that I don’t even know how I did it! I was demolishing some shelving in my garage to make room for some equipment. The demo work went well, but once done, I noticed I had trouble rolling my wrists. By the next day, it was just a throbbing dumb injury. I’m getting old, I guess.

Almost a week later and I’m able to at least roll my wrist and flex it a little, but the pain is still there. It’ll probably take another week or 2 to fully heal. I’ve learned not to push too much, so I’m taking it easy this week and doing some prep work this weekend. My garage should be a fully functional gym! I can’t wait.
