I know it’s a little strange posting this, but I thought it was funny that this popped into my head. I don’t know where this came from, but this is a haiku I wrote in 3rd grade for a writing contest in my elementary school in Los Angeles. I put together a little book of poems and drawings and, to my amazement, I won 1st place in the district. I really wish I had kept the book and the award; I have no clue where they ended up.
To the best of my memory, here is the only poem that I can remember:
Hard Working Ants
The hard working ants
Build their nests and get no rest
And work all day long.
Yeah, I’m underwhelmed, too. But hey, I was only 8!
