The defending champion Seattle Seahawks will take on the 3 time champion New England Patriots.<\/p>\n<p>It is an intriguing matchup with all kinds of storylines. Here are a few to watch out for and some interesting facts and tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Super Bowl Appearances:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New England<\/strong> \u2013 8. They currently have 3 wins.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seattle<\/strong> \u2013 3. They currently have 1 win.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tom Brady<\/strong> is seeking his 4th Super Bowl ring. That would tie him with the greats, Montana and Bradshaw.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tom Brady<\/strong> is taking his team to their 6th Super Bowl appearance. That\u00a0is a record for a QB.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seattle<\/strong>\u00a0is looking to repeat. That has not\u00a0happened since&#8230; yup, since the Patriots repeated as champs in 2003 and 2004.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pete Carroll vs Bill Belichick<\/strong>. Carroll was the last coach fired by the Patriots. Belichick has been there ever since. I\u00a0am sure there\u2019s no love loss there, so Carroll\u2019s celebrations should be over the top \u2013 maybe with a little more glee than usual. Belichick might crack a smile \u2013 <em>MIGHT<\/em> \u2013 if the Pats can take this one.<\/li>\n<li>Pete Carroll is a year older than Bill Belichick. Just found that interesting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Richard Sherman<\/strong>, Cornerback for the Seahawks, is an L.A. area local boy \u2013 Compton, CA!<\/li>\n<li>Story goes that Lamar Hunt, owner of the old AFL&#8217;s KC Chiefs, coined the term &#8220;<strong>Super Bowl<\/strong>&#8221; back in the late 60&#8217;s. But did he? Regardless, it may have been an ode to the college bowl games. The original bowl game: The Pasadena Rose Bowl.<\/li>\n<li>For the 2015 Super Bowl, advertisers can expect to shell out $4M for a 30-second spot or, if they are feeling fancy, $8M for a whole minute.<\/li>\n<li>13 teams have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">never won<\/span> a Super Bowl \u2013 4 of them have never even been to one (Browns, Lions, Jags and Texans).<\/li>\n<li><strong>NFC<\/strong> Super Bowl wins: 26. <strong>AFC<\/strong> Super Bowl wins: 22.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>TIP<\/strong><\/em>: If you do not have a big TV, now is the time to buy one. Prices drop 5 to 10% the week leading up to the Super Bowl.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Viewing TIP<\/em><\/strong>: Do not watch the game live. I record it and tune in about 2 hours in so that I can skip all the commercials (yup, don&#8217;t care) and the halftime show. In the meantime, I\u00a0will make some drinks, grill and avoid all social media \/ messages. It\u00a0is the only way to watch!<\/li>\n<li>I want <strong>New England<\/strong> to win\u2026 but won\u2019t really feel too bad if Seattle takes it. I just wanna see a good damn game, unlike last year\u2019s romp.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Raiders<\/strong> suck. It\u00a0is such a dumb thing! Let&#8217;s ignore domestic violence (and those horrid commercials), suicides, concussions, brain injuries, off-field arrests, the Pink October fraud, ALS and everything else that is wrong with the NFL and football and let&#8217;s talk about balls being under inflated. <a title=\"The Hypocrisy of Sport Fans\" href=\"http:\/\/jgar.pw\/b\/the-hypocrisy-of-sport-fans\/\" target=\"_blank\">Yeah, that makes a lot of sense!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But I get it. There is no football this week so something or someone has to dominate the headlines. I know my stuff but<br \/>\ndo not\u00a0care enough to buy a jersey, celebrate when a team wins or sulk if they lose. I record games because I can&#8217;t stand the commentary, commercials and breaks, so I skip through them all, much to the frustration of anyone who is watching a game with me. Hell, I will even forward between snaps, unless an offense is in hurry-up mode, like New England likes to do. If the team I want to win loses, I really do not\u00a0care that much. It is them winning or losing, not \u201c<em>us<\/em>\u201d or \u201c<em>me<\/em>.\u201d <a title=\"Sports \u2013 Hard To See Why Anyone Cares\" href=\"http:\/\/jgar.pw\/b\/sports-hard-see-anyone-cares\/\" target=\"_blank\">Keep your priorities straight!!!<\/a> \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>I do not\u00a0write this kind of post often enough.
